Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Said the Company Will Comply With Legal Regulations and Advance Technology Under Trump's Administration

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that his company will continue to balance legal compliance with technological progress under Donald Trump’s incoming administration. This comes despite concerns over rising U.S.-China tensions.

Nvidia's quarterly revenue hit a record high this week thanks to strong demand for its artificial intelligence chips. However, investors are concerned about the rising tensions between the U.S. and China as Trump begins his term.

Huang said that no matter what happens with the new administration, Nvidia will continue to follow the laws, keep improving its technology, and support customers around the world. He believes cooperation will continue.

Huang was in Hong Kong to receive an honorary doctorate of engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Speaking at the university, Huang said that “the age of AI has begun,” highlighting China's role in AI. He said that “AI is the most important technology of our time, and potentially of all times.”

There he told reporters that “whatever happens, we'll balance simultaneously compliance with laws and policies, continue to advance our technology, and support and serve customers all over the world.”

Nvidia Leads the AI Revolution in the US

The U.S. chipmaking giant was restricted by Biden's administration from exporting its advanced AI chips to rival country China, which is seen as a strategic competitor in semiconductors.

Huang said that Nvidia has “redefined computing and ushered in a new industrial revolution,” 25 years after inventing the graphics processing unit (GPU).

Emphasizing that AI research and development should remain open and global, Huang said, “Open science and open research in AI is global, and nothing in the future will stop that.”

In early November, Nvidia briefly overtook Apple to become the world's most valuable company, reflecting the AI boom on Wall Street.

Tech giants around the world are eyeing Nvidia's technology, with billions of dollars in investments to help train their AI models and heavy computing needs.
