Reports are that Hamish Linklater (Manhunt, Midnight Mass) has joined the cast of Prime Video and Showrunner Michele Fazekas's Gen V Season 2.
Hamish Linklater, known for his roles in "Manhunt" and "Midnight Mass," has joined the cast of "Gen V" Season 2, Prime Video's spinoff series from "The Boys."
According to reports, Linklater will portray Cipher, the Dean of Godolkin University, who is described as "charismatic and charming." Trained as a scientist, Cipher has earned the trust and admiration of officials at the highest level.
The role of Andre Anderson, originally played by Chance Perdomo, will not be recast following Perdomo's tragic passing. Instead, the writers are reworking the storyline to honor his character.
Showrunner Eric Kripke recently provided an update on the situation, stating that they were a week away from filming when Perdomo passed, and they had to quickly adjust the scripts.
"What I tell people when they say 'wow, that's really crazy or difficult' [is] that pales in comparison to what his friends and loved ones are going through. It's the least we could do," Kriplater added.
"Gen V" Season 1 introduced Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi as the next generation of supes.
Guest stars included Clancy Brown, Jason Ritter, and Derek Wilson, while Jensen Ackles, Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, Chace Crawford, and P.J. Byrne reprised their roles from "The Boys."
