Chumeiren advertised an innovative procedure that promised "no surgery or synthetic implants," instead utilizing the patient's own blood tissue for cultivation. The clinic claimed the 20-minute procedure would result in larger breasts without any visible scarring.

Enticed by the allure of a quick and painless cosmetic enhancement, Lanlan paid a hefty sum of 546,800 yuan (approximately $75,500) for the procedure. Initially, she was satisfied with the aesthetic outcome, but soon after, she began experiencing discomfort and asymmetry in her breasts.

Concerned about the persistent symptoms, Lanlan sought a medical examination, which revealed the presence of "foreign bodies" within her breasts. These foreign substances were surgically removed at a cost of 200,000 yuan (approximately $27,600).

During the surgical procedure, Lanlan's surgeon removed an alarming 200 milliliters of a "yellow, oily substance" from her breasts and replaced it with prosthetic implants. Despite thorough cleansing, traces of the foreign fillers remained, posing potential health risks to Lanlan, who is now seven months pregnant and facing anxiety over breastfeeding.

Disturbingly, analysis of the filler samples revealed the presence of proteins from various animal sources, including camels, bats, and chimpanzees. The discovery of such exotic and potentially harmful materials in Lanlan's implants has raised serious questions about the safety and ethical standards of the clinic and the wider cosmetic surgery industry in China.

Adding to the scandal, it was revealed that Lanlan's mother had also undergone a similar procedure at the same clinic, spending over 600,000 yuan. She too experienced breast pain and deformities, further fueling concerns about the clinic's malpractice.

Lanlan subsequently filed a lawsuit against the Chumeiren clinic, which is now defunct, and was awarded compensation of $103,400. However, recovering the funds may prove challenging, as the clinic's owner has disappeared.
