BitcoinOS Claimed That Any Bitcoiner or Cardano Lover Will Not Be Restricted to Using the $BOS Token, Instead, It Will Be Invisible

Nov 29, 2024 at 07:16 pm

5 days ago the controversy started when BitcoinOS announced their new token plan. Before that BitcoinOS never talked about any token concept and people were expecting that BitcoinOS will allow people to use Cardano's native token $Ada or simply Bitcoin but the sudden announcement regarding the $BOS token shocked the whole crypto industry.

The BitcoinOS team has stated that any Bitcoiner or Cardano enthusiast will not be required to use the $BOS token and that its use will be concealed from users.

When BitcoinOS unveiled their new token plan five days prior, a controversy erupted. BitcoinOS had never previously mentioned any token concept, and people anticipated that they would enable users to use Cardano's native token, $ADA, or Bitcoin, but the surprise announcement regarding the $BOS token shocked the entire crypto industry.

On November 28, 2024, Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, reacted to a tweet concerning this controversy. He stated that Bitcoiners will never utilize Bitcoin on any other altcoin network and that if they are forced to use another altcoin, they will not do so because Bitcoin is their only primary gold standard.

It also pertains to commercial viability. Bitcoiners will not utilize an altcoin for Bitcoin defi. It's Bitcoin. It serves as the gold standard. Give the children what they desire.

The BitcoinOS team stated in response to Hoskinson's tweet that people will not be required to use the $BOS token and that it will instead be concealed from users, who will have the option to pay the fee on the Cardano-Bitcoin bridge using Cardano ($ADA), Bitcoin ($BTC), or the $BOS token.

Greetings, Charles,

To use Bitcoin DeFi through BitcoinOS, Bitcoiners do *NOT* require the $BOS token.

BOS token payments will be abstracted away from the UX of most end users so they can pay in BTC or other tokens – a bit like Babel fees will do for Cardano.

We fully concur with you. People will be able to use Bitcoin to pay transaction fees, according to the BitcoinOS team, but those BTC costs will technically be used automatically to purchase $BOS tokens, which will then be used to cover the service charge.

However, this response from the BitcoinOS team adequately addressed the issue, but because they never mentioned it in their whitepaper, the crypto community still needs more information regarding this new token.
